“This Is Grace”
Words and Music by Ryan Newcomb

Andrea wanted to be a mother,
It was the heart God gave her after all,
Troy was the love of her life,
He’d be the one to hold her hand through it all,
They tried year after year,
The doctors did all that they could do,
So they adopted three boys from South America,
I’ve never seen a love so true,
As when those boys wrestle with their Papa,
Or sit on Mama’s lap so quiet and still,
Now, when I look at this family,
I see the Hand of a perfect, sovereign Will,

This is grace,
A love that is underserved,
This mercy we could never earn,

Doug always had a heart for the Gospel,
Then God gave him his beautiful bride,
Now, he’s learning how to make a written language,
From words that have only been spoken to the sky,
And he’s training the people of Ethiopia,
To tell the stories of all that God has done,
Though they labor in the heart of the darkness,
The gates of hell shall never overcome, And this is grace, That, Lord, You could use a foolish heart, To tell the world who You are, This is grace, That God saw three boys who never had a family, The two hearts He joined as one to love them as their own, He saw a people lost in an empty religion, And the hearts He made to go and bring His children home, Since before there was time, He’s been there every step along the way, Holding the world in His hands, All for the glory of His Name, And this is grace, A love that is underserved, This mercy we could never earn, This is grace, That, Lord, You could use a foolish heart, To tell the world who You are, This is grace.
